from the Dean
Welcome to the College
of Nursing at SNU!
The
College of Nursing, Seoul National University has a long and rich heritage
as a National University and is committed to creating an environment of
academic excellence. This year marks the 104th anniversary of
launching training school for nurses by the order of Emperor Kojong during
Taehan Empire which is the origin of the College of Nursing, Seoul National
University. Over the one century,
our nursing education program has aimed to produce competent nurse
clinicians, educators, and researchers who lead healthcare in Korea. Our
school has graduates over 3000, 500, and 170 from baccalaureate, master and
doctoral programs respectively and they take a leadership role in promoting
and implementing quality care and research in various healthcare
workplaces. The generosity of our alumni permitted us to support
scholarships, international activities for students and school facilities
improvement.
We
have outstanding faculty members who work hard on expanding the body of
nursing knowledge through research and enhancing the quality education. Our
facilities in the campus have been remodeled to provide students with
better learning environment.
In
upcoming 2 years (2011~2012), we will enthusiastically globalize our
education and research and collaborate with other multidisciplinary
healthcare professionals. We will base our passion and intelligence on the
ground and build up professional excellence and nursing-specific evidences
for healthy future for all.
